I mentioned in my last journal that DeviantLITERATURE was planning something big. Well, it's here! (And has been for five days now)

DeviantLITERATURE has launched its latest project, the Character Conception Challenge! Full details are over here DevLIT's Character Conception Challenge!July was a month of a capella nights,
Red heliotrope scores and blanched
Methadone eyes.
A singing of nerves hewn to a cry:
Fine-tuned and skinned
To carpal ascension,
The quivers of a quaver
Due to crescendo.
I hovered, wing-like, on the husk
Of schizocarp dreams,
But sprang forth undone
By chorus and synchrony.

DeviantLITERATURE's Character Conception Challenge!
We hope you've all been doing your best over at Camp NaNo this past month, and the Admin Team are overjoyed to announce to you an upcoming project!
With NaNo fever all over the Literature scene here on dA, the dL Admins got together and asked each other, "What is the most difficult thing about NaNoWriMo and Camp?" Then, MoonlightWillow6 came up with the answer - character building. So, we thought, what better than to have a month-long character-oriented challenge between the two months of Camp NaNo?
So, we are proud to present, the DeviantLITERATURE Characte
We've already launched prompt number one: CCC: Prompt IMy weeping sorrows
Like shards of a lonely heart
Remain embedded...

DeviantLITERATURE's Character Conception Challenge!
July 1st -- Prompt I
Hello and welcome all to July 1st - the first day of dL's CCC! Your challenge today is a prompt. I hope you're all prepared, pens and pencils at the ready, or a nice MS Word open and waiting? Sit tight and let the character grow...
Your challenge is to write a piece of prose between 500 and 2,000 words from the perspective of a younger version of your character, meeting their older self for the first time.
If you have any questions about this prompt, just message us!
The 'deadline' is the eighth, however as this is just a challenge and not a competition, we will not reject pieces written for this prompt beyond then!
So, may DeviantLITERATURE's Character Conception Challenge formally begin! Get scribbling! :typerhappy:
Things to look forward to!
Coming up...

and our first workshop (writing tips) penned by yours truly: CCC: Workshop IScreaming.
Grieving.
Loving.
Breaking.
Do you know how hard I try?
Continually I try to make it work,
I try so hard.
I write for you,
read you my silly love songs,
sing them to you when you're having doubts.
This poetry I write for you,
I pour myself inside it.
But that is never enough.
Bleeding.
Crying.
Dying.
I tried.
I'm sorry.
It was too much work.

Flaws and Development by MoonlightWillow6

Part One: Flaws
What drives a story?
The plot? The setting? The characters?
The correct answer, in a good story, is all of the above. A story needs a plot, setting and characters. A good story, needs more than that. It needs a riveting, curveball throwing plot. It needs a setting bursting with life. And in my opinion, most importantly, it needs interesting characters.
Characters are a double edged sword. Done right, they can change a mediocre stor

"Hm, The Big Damn Kiss, First Kiss, Concert Kiss, and True Love's Kiss all in one. Impressive."
He chuckled. "What, not a Hollywood Kiss?"
With a smirk, she replied, "Not quite yet, but you're free to try again if you'd like."
"Gladly."

I can't even begin to say how much of an honor this is. A trillion thanks to doodlerTM! (:icondoodlertm: ) And also to Flash Fiction Month, for motivating me to write this piece in the first place.

Wow... it had always been my goal to earn a DLD, and now I have two. Thanks so much to everyone on dA. You've helped me grow as a writer, and a person. You guys rock! :)

Well, school's out! It's summer again, which means loads of free time to watch anime, spend on TV Tropes, and.... well, not work. :P

Anyhow, I do have loads to catch up on. First things first, I'm now a co-founder of :icondeviantliterature:! I'm just stepping in for virgin0wh0re, who has gone missing. (and speaking of DeviantLITERATURE, we've got something big coming up! I'm super excited! :))

Also, some of you might remember my other group, the Prompt Palace. Well, that's pretty much dead at the moment. I might start it up again, but don't expect anything soon. Sorry. :(

And another thing, yay! I won the :iconsilverinkblot:'s giveaway of her notebook. I'm super excited (again)! I know I've probably said this a trillion times at this point, but if you haven't heard of her, go check out her work right now! I can't recommend SilverInkBlot enough, she's a really good writer.

Also... NaNoWriMo! What? In summer? Yup! That's right, NaNoWriMo is now a camp, taking place in both June and August. I originally planned on participating in June, but seeing how I've barely started, I think I'm going to stick with August. Anyone else participating?

Okay, I think that's everything, now onto anime, and video games, and other stuff I fangirl over. (Warning, some pretty major spoilers for the Legend of Korra)

Well, first things first... KORRA!!!! AKSJFHALSKJhfljksahflkJHFLKJASHf!!!!! What can I even say about this show? It's amazing! Almost as good as the original. For one thing, it's a lot darker and more serious, which is always a plus in my book, but still has the same goofy humor that everyone loved about the original. It also has the second coolest female character of all time, Lin! (which reminds me... NOOOOOO LIN WHY!?!?!?!) Also... DANTE BASCO WAS IN EPISODE TEN!!!!!!! *has a seizure from fangirling*

So, who here is excited for the finale? I know I am! This Saturday at 11, can't wait!

Um, what else. I've watched quite a bit of anime in my absence, but nothing that really stood out (Though Baccanno was pretty good). As for video games, nothing particularly interesting from E3. The Wii U doesn't look all that great, and there aren't many new games coming out (I'm still waiting for Super Smash Bros. 4, whatever they decide to call it). Oh! But there is one thing I'm looking forward to, Pokemon Black and White 2! (talk about creative naming...) It looks pretty good! ^_^

Well, I think that's about everything. I'm glad to be back at DeviantArt! :D

That's right! Me!

Hello everyone. I apologize for the extremely long hiatus. I've been posting a few things, but I haven't been replying to comments or faves or anything, so I'm really sorry for all that.

The good news is, I'll be back soon. I've just got one last test this Sunday.

Once again, I'm really sorry for the long wait. Thank you guys for sticking with me though.

The literature group I was thinking of starting is now up and running! It's called the Prompt Palace: thepromptpalace.deviantart.com…

Like it says on the front page, "The Prompt Palace is a group dedicated to gathering and coming up with writing prompts to inspire writers, along with helping writers develop ideas. Anyone is free to join and submit prompts, work inspired by the prompts, or ideas that still need a little development."

Please come on by and check it out! The group was just approved today, so there's not much up now, but in the future, I'd like to have daily prompts, and (hopefully) monthly contests.

I'm going to need some admins though. I'd like two (Maybe three) co-founders, and maybe five contributors. Co-founders will help with coming up with daily prompts, judging contests, and approving member requests. Contributors will also help with submitting prompts, along with helping out in the "Idea Bakery" which is basically where developing ideas go to... develop... You know what I mean. Both Co-founders and contributors will get unlimited submissions. If you're interested in any of these positions, please contact me! ^_^

I hope to see you all there! :)

And now onto weekly features!

 Thank you so much to :iconsilverinkblot: for giving me a DLD! If you haven't looked at her gallery yet, you should go over right away. She's is easily one of the most talented writers here on dA, and a generally wonderful person.

I apologize, I know I haven't been around a lot lately. My teachers are overloading me with projects. But luckily, Winter Break is right around the corner, so I should be able to write some more! :D

As for Prompt Palace, a group I am thinking of creating (See my previous journal for more info), that should be coming sometime in the next two weeks.

And now onto the weekly features!

And here are two songs I recently listened to and fell in love with:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfBY96…

Now onto other stuff (coughAnimeandVideoGamescough) As usual, if you don't care for this type of thing, then that's all!

First off, who here is super excited for the Legend of Korra!?! The opening sequence was recently leaked and I was fan girl squealing the entire time I was watching it.

Speaking of fangirl squealing, I feel really bad for my friends right now. The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword recently came out but I have yet to play it. Which means I've been driving them up the walls with my squealing over how excited I am. But I seriously can't wait! It looks like such a good game! Man, I wish the holidays would come sooner...

And even more fangirl related stuff. I recently started watching Code Geass.

Wow... I absolutely love it! The characters are a lot like those from Death Note (Especially Lelouch, he's exactly like Light) but the plot is a lot more action oriented. And it has a human feel, not found in Death Note. Code Geass = You should seriously go watch it. It is amazing!

And that's about it for now. Bye! :D
